A Venetian betrayal

Steve has always liked to name characters after people he knows, and The Venetian Betrayal  is a good example.  Brent Green, Edwin Davis, Heather Dixon, Larry Daley, and Danny Daniels are all long time friends.  Heather Dixon especially is interesting, as she introduced Steve to his wife, Elizabeth.  Edwin Davis was a long-time friend who passed away a few months before the book was published.  Steve loved the character, so Edwin re-appeared in The Charlemagne Pursuit, playing a much larger role.  The Venetian Betrayal, hardcover and paperback, spent 8 weeks on The New York Times bestseller lists.  Currently, it is published in 26 countries, with that number still growing.  There are nearly 1,500,000 books in print worldwide.
